Here I am

Reading Time: 1 min

What a crazy couple of months it’s been. Lauren’s gone and married, I’m finished school preparing for a long summer at camp, and doing very little but working and reading.

It’s been a painful couple of months though… Something you might call a pruning season, although I’m not sure if I’m ready to say that for sure. I can say that God is teaching me things; I just hope that a season of growth, a season of spring is on its way. This winter season is teaching me, in a very clear tangiable way that Jesus is all I need. It’s a season of taking much of what I know in my head and moving it to my heart. And it’s an answer to prayer, that movement. I just didn’t count on it being so painful, or lonely.

What a funny thing loneliness is. I find myself in moments where all I want is to be around people, sometimes with someone specific, but I find that when I venture out to seek that social comfort, all I want is to be by myself.

I think I might be coming to terms with the fact that sometimes I’m lonely. And there isn’t anything I can do. Jesus may take it away, but in His timing. He may see fit to leave me in this state for a long time– but I’m choosing to trust that it’s for my good, and more importantly for His glory. And choose to remember that moment by moment.”Signature”
